
Established in 1932, the Department of Philosophy and Logic has been functioning as a general subject department since the establishment of Nowrosjee Wadia College, the department is the oldest Philosophy Department in the city. P.R.Damle (former Principal), was the first Head of the department and Professor of Philosophy and Logic of this college. The Department offers a course in Philosophy and Logic as general level subjects for the degree of B.A.
The department is committed to providing students with a high-quality, in-depth grounding in philosophy. The Department is also committed to the formation of knowledge that promotes the academic development of the people of India, and the world. Philosophy tries to make sense of individual experience and reality through critical indication and argument.
The Department has organized from time to time Seminars and Guest lectures to provide philosophical knowledge keeping in view the global trend in the subject.

The department organizes several events and activities for the students.
In the academic year 2018-19, Dept. of Philosophy & Logic had organized departmental fest for the students. In this fest there are various events, like Philosophical and logical Quiz, Philosophical and logical Poster making and Philosophical and logical Group discussion. Many students participated this fest.
Students who participated in a Philosophical and logical Poster making depicted their feelings and emotions in the particular art . All classes students were combined in a two groups, they expressed their understanding, views, counterviews in the group discussion, group discussion topic was Beauty or Brain – who can rule the world?
Mr. Milind Narwade was presented research paper “धर्म आणि मानवा-मानवातील समानता - संत कबीर” in the Maharashtra Tattavdnyan Parishad held on 26-28 December 2024 at S.P.College, Pune.
