The Department of Mathematics, Nowrosjee Wadia College is under the headship of Dr. Mrs. S. S. Boxwala Kale. The broad areas of specialization of the faculty are Algebra, Analysis, Integral and Differential equations and Discrete Mathematics. The faculty interacts with various national and international bodies, research centers and Universities in the capacity of organizers, thesis examiners, editors, referees and reviewers for research journals in Mathematics in addition to participating and lecturing in workshops and conferences. Also the Department conducts various workshops and conferences beneficial to the Mathematics students and teachers alike. The Department conducts courses in Mathematics for the B. Sc., B. A., M. Sc. (Industrial Mathematics with Computer Applications) students.
The Department has two libraries hosting a rich collection of over 2000 books and some National and International Journals. Around 2000 books of Established National and International Publications on different topics such as Analysis, Algebra, Discrete Mathematics, Differential Equations, Operations Research etc. are available in the Library. The UnderGraduate library is maintained by the voluntary support of the students and the faculty. The Department Library boasts of a good collection of the following reputed international journals:

Department is having dedicated well equipped classrooms for B.Sc. & M. Sc. IMCA
M. Sc. (IMCA) has two well equipped classrooms and one Laboratory. The classroom is equipped with modern teaching aids like LCD projector and Internet connection along with traditional chalk and duster method of teaching. Students can learn latest technologies with lucid examples.
The Department Laboratory consists of 16 Computers with advanced processors and internet connection.
We are using Linux based client server architecture for conducting labs.
Laboratory is available for all student for all time during college hours.
All B. Sc. students can visit college main library which contains a huge variety of books for all respective subjects.
Department is having dedicated library for Post Graduate students.

Library is managed under the control of HOD of the department.
The Department every year arranges several lectures to help and guide the Undergraduate and Postgraduate students to prepare for various competitive examinations. The Department also organizes several soft skill workshops for the overall personality development of the students. Some faculty of the Department are actively involved in career guidance and placement activities. Some Industry experts are invited periodically to guide the students.
These lectures will help students to decide further goals and directions of studies.
To commemorate the 124th birth anniversary of one of the greatest Indian Mathematicians, Srinivasa Ramanujan, the Department of Mathematics organized a Winter Festival of Mathematics ‘TAUTOLOGY’. All the activities in the festival are open to all students of Nowrosjee Wadia College and some of the activities like the Mathematical Treasure Hunt and SUDOKU competition are open to all students and staff on the campus.

M.Sc.(IMCA) is a three years course, in which Semester VI is totally devoted for Industrial training. Here, students have to do project work in an IT company for the whole semester and present their work (demonstration) at the end of the semester. For placing these students in different companies, our department helps them to go through the selection process. Our PLACEMENT CELL conducts several mock tests, interviews and lecture sessions for students. We invite several industrial experts to give lectures and arrange several group discussion sessions for them.
Placement activities are carried for our PG students. During their last semester, students have to work on an industrial project.
