
Established in 1932, the Department of History at Nowrosjee Wadia College has a long-standing tradition of academic excellence and intellectual inquiry. 📚 Principal R. D. Choksey authored an important series on the Economic History of India.
📚 Dr. Kamal Gokhale wrote the renowned book “Shivaputra Sambhaji.”
📚 Dr. Samita Gupta is known for her respected work “Pune – The Queen of Deccan.”
📚 Principal S. B. Tardalkar co-authored notable works such as Nagpurchi Dhamm-kranti, Mahad cha Mukti-Sangram, Ghanshyam Talwatkar Vichardarshan, and Justice R. R. Bhole – Jivankarya.

📖 Dr. Jyoti S. Aniruddha specializes in the Social Movements of Maharashtra and completed her PhD on “The Emancipatory Movement of the Untouchables in Pune District (1906–1956).”
📖 Dr. Pramila Dasture authored “Thorough – The Bishop’s Saga,” released on 20th July 2018. She was the sole researcher behind the archival project on the history of The Bishop’s School, a prominent British-era institution that recently celebrated 150 years.
